ChampionX has an immediate need for a Field Service Technician (FST) located in Evans, CO supporting our Prime Pump Solutions Business. The Field Service Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pump systems tailored to the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and installations for a variety of pump systems within the oil and gas sector.

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain niche systems like Jet Lift for Artificial Lift of oil wells, Saltwater Disposal systems, Fluid Transfer systems that are mostly operated by a Variable Speed Drive (VSD).

  • Diagnose and address issues with various pump systems, automation, and electrical equipment, ensuring optimal and safe operation in line with industry standards.

  • Engage directly with customers, delivering updates, insights, service, and system improvement recommendations.

  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and standards relevant to the oil and gas sector, maintaining a safe environment at all client sites.

  • Thoroughly document all service tasks, utilized parts, and other pertinent data, providing regular updates to the Operations Manager regarding service status, obstacles, and client feedback.

  • Stay abreast of current trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to pump maintenance, Jet Lift, VSDs, Automation, and other systems in the oil and gas industry.

  • Effectively manage and maintain both personal and company-provided tools, equipment and vehicles, ensuring regular checks and maintenance are done timely and properly.

  • Regularly travel to remote locations to perform duties. Participate with on-call rotation for the facility, as required by the business. May require overnight travel to other locations outside of base location for business support.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence

  • Acceptable driving record through Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

  • Drug and alcohol test

  • Criminal background check

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year industry or related experience

  • Regularly and predictably attend work and be punctual and work in excess of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, as required to meet business needs.

  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

  • Read, write, and speak English.

  • Basic math skills

  • Use a computer to communicate, create, and access data.

  • Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or knowledge of specific pump types, including Multiplex Reciprocating Plunger Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Horizontal Surface Pumps (HSP), and Gear Pumps is highly advantageous.

  • Robust understanding of safety regulations and protocols in the oil and gas industry.

  • I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) and Automation experience.

  • Proficiency in industry-related software and diagnostic tools.

  • Must be able walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.

  • Employee must wear required personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, eye and hearing protection and respirators.

Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed at customer field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.

  • Some work is accomplished indoors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Work may include visits to customer offices.

Compensation:

$26.00-$28.00 plus $1,000 sign on bonus
