Compensation Grade: P23Compensation Details: Minimum: $82,711.00 - Maximum: $82,711.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Public Health Representative IV to work within the Capital Region and will be responsible for facilitation communication between the Center of Environmental Health and Communicable Disease. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting and providing accurate guidance, information, education to the public, NYSDOH staff, local health departments, and other agencies related to communicable disease and environmental health. The incumbent will also be responsible for the following duties; investigate potential disease clusters and/or outbreaks; make epidemiologic findings available to others; stay abreast communicable disease data sources, collection methods and uses of data and provide technical assistance to program staff as needed and direct support to regional and LHD staff; collaborate with laboratory and health information technology partners on epidemiologic capacity expanding activities. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience in a health, human service or community-based organization, that includes providing direct patient/client services, performing regulatory activities, and/or direct clinical care as a healthcare provider, or closely related experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least one year of experience must have included program management or supervision of staff. Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in public health. Experience in epidemiology investigation, health program planning, evaluation, and management. Experience in participating in the investigation of communicable disease outbreaks and/or special communicable disease studies. Experience in training and education of health care providers, including developing, delivering, and coordination educational materials. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
