The Los Angelesoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aLighting Design Internto join our team.

Working with us, you will:

• Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
• Produce electrical design drawings using the latest design software.
• Compile data and prepare design solutions.
• Prepare calculations utilizing AG132 software.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced lighting design professionals.
• Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.

An ideal candidate has:

• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited electrical engineering, architectural engineering or lighting design program by the time of the internship.
• Relevant course work in lighting design along with an interest in lighting within the building industry.
• Some experience with current design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, AGI32 and the Microsoft Office Suite.

SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $20.65 to $23.55 hourly, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis.
