The Role: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in our Bank systems architecture transformation, focusing on the evolution of our banking core to an account-engine model and the implementation of lean modular processes that interfaces with cloud native services. This position involves making strategic incremental changes to the Profile banking core that propels SoFi towards a successful migration to the next gen. banking platform, while at the same time supporting existing functionality and enhancing them as needed through customization to framework components, data structures, core deposit elements and API interfaces. You'll be working within a highly collaborative environment where planning and executing through a unified lens is essential due to the complexity and interdependencies of multiple systems that interact with banking core. As a SoFi senior software engineer, you'll be in the middle of it all - you'll work with stakeholders to implement functionality, architect our systems, squash bugs, and continually grow as an engineer. The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and can draw from their wealth of banking core experience, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and co-worker. What you'll do: Lead the development and testing of our banking core systems and services Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product and core banking migration Help translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutions Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers What you'll need: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 6+ years programming experience in Profile/PSL Our banking core stack is Profile/PSL, GT.M/MUMPS, C, Python, Linux on AWS infrastructure and we run on Kubernetes in a service oriented architecture with over 100 services in production A proven understanding of hierarchical database and their structures (GT.M) Strong US banking domain expertise on areas such as product customizations, account relationships, ACH, debit card processing, regulations and compliance. Experience working on a SOA or integrating to a microservice-based application.
