Job Overview

The Audiology Assistant I supports professional audiology staff with diagnostic audio logic evaluations, patient equipment, communication with families and outside professionals/organizations, and database management, while maintaining organization of clinic space, equipment, and supplies in all settings in which audiology services are offered. The Audiology Assistant I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Qualifications

* EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree

* EXPERIENCE - Six months relevant experience.

* CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR.

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

Neonate - <30 days

Infancy - >30 days to 1yr

Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs

Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs

School age - >5yrs to 13yrs

Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs

Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

Assists audiologists in two-person behavioral testing.

Provides newborn hearing screenings to inpatients and outpatients, as required. Maintains electronic database for state reporting purposes.

Provides hearing aid check-in, troubleshooting, verification, and delivery support. Schedules return of ear molds, hearing aids, accessories, and supplies to families. Performs ear mold fittings on patients.

Communicates with families and outside professionals/organizations, as requested, following HIPAA regulations.

Documents in the electronic medical record, as necessary.

Maintains the loaner hearing aid stock and manages database.

Performs calibrations and listening checks on a regular basis; Loads software and troubleshoots hardware repairs on audiology equipment.

Maintains organization and cleaning of the clinic while following infection control procedures; orders and stocks supplies across sites.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $51,410.74 to $77,116.10
Hourly Salary Range: $24.72 to $37.08
