Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
Serve as Program Director for the Future Education Model Dietetics Graduate Program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
This position provides oversight for coursework and duties associated with the regular academic and educational experiences related to the Dietetics Graduate Program coursework and related field placement.
The Director provides leadership in recruiting, enrolling and retaining students in the program and ensures the program is in compliance with accreditation requirements.
The main responsibilities are to 1) lead the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students in the program, 2) establish internship placements associated with the Dietetic Program, 3) ensure that the program complies with accreditation requirements, and 4) oversee the coursework, duties and program development. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Family And Consumer Sciences is one of four academic departments within the College Of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (
AAFCS).
The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in three program areas with the following six distinct specialty emphases: child development and family relations, child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure), consumer sciences, fashion merchandising and design, food and nutritional sciences (nutrition) and food and nutritional sciences (food science).
Additionally, the department offers a Master of Science degree in food and nutritional science, a Master of Arts in Teaching in family and consumer sciences education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure).
Faculty members are actively engaged in research that contributes to the body of knowledge in the areas of nutrition, food science, housing, apparel, textiles and family issues. |
Minimum Requirements |
- Doctorate degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university
- Higher education teaching and advising experience.
- Registered Dietitian
- Knowledge of ACEND standards of education and broad knowledge of clinical and administrative dietetics.
