Job Title: Math Interventionist/ Math Teacher

Location: 50 Jenckes Hill Road Lincoln, RI, 02865

Pay Rate: $35.00/hr. to $40.00/hr. on w2 without benefits

Duration: 8 months

Working Hours: 25.00 hours

Required:

  • Secondary Education Mathematics Teacher Certification Required.
  • RIDE teacher certification required.
  • Data analysis
  • Classroom Management Experience.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Use data from screening, and formative and summative assessments to identify students in need of intervention.
  • Plan and provide intervention for identified students that support and align with Highly Qualified Curriculum.
  • Assist teachers in the maintenance of appropriate records of student data and communicate progress to the classroom teacher, Math Department Coordinator, and families.
  • Empower a diverse student population of learners through individualized and small-group instruction.
  • Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and enhance instructional practices.
  • Incorporate a variety of assessment tools and strategies in order to inform and modify instruction, as well as target intervention and instruction needs.
  • Attend training on Highly Qualified Curriculum and universal screening tools.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Academic Supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Secondary Education Mathematics Teacher Certification issued by the Rhode Island Department of Education.
  • Experience differentiating math instruction for a range of learners, using research-based best practice techniques.
  • Experience writing lesson plans with clear, attainable learning goals and aligned activities.
  • Experience using a range of assessments to analyze student learning to inform instruction.
  • Ability to utilize current technology for instruction, communication, data analysis, and access to research.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in Mathematics.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
