Zayo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Architect Director to transform our operations systems. In this role, you will collaborate with strategic leaders across the business to drive innovative and robust technology solutions that enable our business transformation strategy.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate System Architects in Operations:

  • Coordinate and facilitate collaboration and research across multiple architects focusing on our Operations functions such as Service Assurance, Inventory and Supply Chain management, Construction, Service Activation and Field Operations.

  • Understand Operations strategic objectives and collaborate with technical and business leaders within that team and lead development of architectures to achieve those.

  • Ensure total architecture is aligned to the Enterprise Architecture vision and principles

  • Work with Enterprise Architects to continuously improve processes and tools to allow us to accelerate our work for the operations transformation effort.

Solution Design and Development:

  • Develop and execute end-to-end architectures for business applications and services, considering scalability, performance, security, and reliability.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive solution designs.

  • Leverage technical expertise to drive the design and selection of appropriate applications, infrastructure, and networking to develop end to end architecture solutions.

  • Participate in Architecture Review Board sessions to review and approve architecture materials and resolve issues. Participate in Strategy Review Board sessions to provide critical input on key decisions.

Architectural Leadership:

  • Review RFP and SOW material from 3rd party implementation partners to ensure they are aligned with the architecture developed.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to implementation teams during the design and implementation phase, ensuring the alignment of the solution with architectural principles and design specifications.

  • Lead collaborative communication and provide regular updates to the Program leaders for progress, issues. Assist in aligning the work to the teams and highlighting dependencies to recommended initiatives as well as ongoing initiatives or other planned work.

  • Lead design reviews and architecture discussions, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.

Industry and Technology Trends:

  • Stay current with emerging trends, standards, and best practices in the telecommunications industry. TMForum applications.

  • Apply insights to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within our solution offerings.

Requirements Analysis:

  • Work closely with Business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze technical and business requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs.

  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications and architectural designs.

Solution Documentation:

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system designs, deployment models, and integration plans, to effectively communicate solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field plus 10 years of related experience architecting & designing large enterprise application solutions; OR 14 years of direct related experience required with High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong Architecture leadership with demonstrated ability to deliver on transformational efforts.

  • Minimum of five (5 ) years experience working in the Communications industry.

  • Experience with an architecture framework. TOGAF is preferred.

  • Experience working with TMForum architecture for communications industry.

  • Proven track record eliciting business requirements and desired outcomes, and delivering solutions to meet or exceed those outcomes.

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to influence other decision makers.

  • Excellent strategic, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in presenting complex technical concepts to various audiences.

  • Experience with architecture applications and modeling. Archimate, LeanIX or similar tools.

Specific Operations Architect Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience delivering solutions to the communications industry related to service delivery, network support and field operations teams.

  • Understanding processes and workflows related to service provisioning, fault management, maintenance, and outage response.

  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools and techniques for real-time performance monitoring, fault detection, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.

  • Understanding of field operations requirements and technologies including mobile workforce management, dispatching systems, and remote diagnostic tools.

  • Understanding of business processes in one or more of the following: Network Operations, Network Planning, Network Inventory tracking, Service Delivery, Field Service Management, Service Assurance.

  • Experience with ServiceNow a plus.

  • Experience with various network inventory applications, Metasolv, IQGeo, GDI, or similar software.

Base Salary Range: $114,900 - $180,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
