Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Review shop orders for shipping information. Type bills of lading to reflect customer requirements specified on shop orders. May contact customer for clarification.
  • Select truck lines (where not specified) based on investigation of rates and routes and upon previous experience
  • Assist in determining load weights and dimensions based on system information. Consult other departments for information not contained in system
  • Determine if non-standard shipping methods are required, and if so, contact truck lines, airlines, etc. for arrangements as required for special shipments, including contact with customers.
  • Track outgoing shipments as requested
  • Perform other general clerical tasks as needed and requested (typing, filing, fax, copying, data entry)
  • Enter/edit shipping logs, run reports, make copies of reports and distribute as needed
  • Organize bills of lading, review ship orders, enter data as needed
  • Complete export documentation
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year general office experience and/or equivalent vocational training
  • 1+ year logistics or traffic experience including over dimensional coordination desired
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, logistics partners and drivers to provide information and resolve problems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software programs and equipment
  • Export experience desired


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
  • Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer
