Responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of applications to manage Productivity and Position Management processes and to collect and transform data into meaningful, actionable information. Supports the process management, data manipulation and deployment efforts of Northside Hospital's HR, clinical, and financial enterprise data repositories. Responsible for leading significant project work as a part of a larger cross-functional team in support of system wide data interpretation.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Designs, builds and maintains applications and reports supporting cross-functional divisions. Utilizes various application management tools including Quickbase, Microsoft Access, Axiom, and others to build applications as necessary.
  2. Collects and defines requirements for process management, reporting and analytical needs. Builds process maps and report requirement documents as part of the project management process to obtain end user support prior to application/report builds.
  3. Builds and deploys efficient data, reporting and analytical tools. Maintains communication with end-users throughout build process to ensure that design requirements are satisfactorily met.
  4. Generates user guides and documentation for projects when complete. Trains end-users on utilization of reporting and analytical tools.
  5. Serves as a technical advisor and internal consultant to all hospital management and staff on the use of productivity management tools and techniques, analytical techniques, and statistical applications. Communicates complex financial and operational data in a concise and understandable manner to hospital management.
  6. Assists with special systems and analytics projects for the Finance Division.
  7. Identifies opportunities and recommendations for process improvement within the Finance Division, including process automation, application creation and builds.
  8. Owns and is accountable for overall data quality assurance process and any relevant documentation.
  9. Performs ad-hoc analysis as necessary to support specific project work.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. B.S. in Computer Science/Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field
  2. Has strong analytical and data modeling skills
  3. Has a solid understanding of database technology
  4. Has the skill to partner with cross-functional teams using strong written and verbal communication
  5. Keen eye for system thinking and process design, especially with respect to scalability and automation
  6. Ability to quickly learn and synthesize new technologies
  7. Excellent communication, presentation and design skills
  8. Strong data interpretation skills.
  9. Self-starter who is motivated to improve processes and find solutions.

PREFERRED:

  1. 2+ years' experience in a healthcare environment
  2. Working knowledge of other microcomputer applications including: Quickbase, Access database applications, HRMS, and other financial systems.
  3. Previous experience in working in a team-oriented environment.
