Our experienced team of physicians is dedicated to caring for all members of the family at every stage of life. TexomaCare is comprised of primary care physicians and a variety of specialists in nine local communities. Working with TexomaCare means you will work with a care team of physicians, advanced practitioners and staff providing compassionate and quality care. TexomaCare is proud to be affiliated with Texoma Medical Center (TMC), the Texoma region's leader in hospital services. Texoma Medical Center is a 414-bed acute care facility located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. More than 3,500 employees, 400 multi-specialty physicians, and over 100 volunteers have helped to support the hospital in delivering quality, patient focused care to the Texoma region for over 50 years.

The Medical Assistant position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include:

  • Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State.
  • Recording documentation in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guidelines.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Assisting in covering the front desk as required

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Medical Assistant certificate preferred.

Current BLS/CPR certification required

Work experience:

Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant

Familiarity with medical terminology required

Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol)

Knowledge:

General medical office procedures

Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol)

Skills:

Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Abilities:

Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions

Equipment Operated:

Office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system

EKG machine, other patient care testing

Work environment:

Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment

May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases

May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Occasionally subject to irregular hours

May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary

Mental/Physical Requirements:

Must be ability to handle emergency or crisis situation

Must be able to see with corrective eye wear

Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
