Job Description

Role Summary:

The purpose of the Warehouseperson is to successfully perform the specified procedure or task in the Warehouse Operations department. These procedures or tasks may include receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping with a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction and warehouse performance. Additionally, the Warehouseperson will be required to adhere to set quality standards, and perform the assigned task in accordance with PDC or RDC safety and performance requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

Operational Duties: 85%



  • 10%: Observe all safety rules including safe lifting techniques, proper equipment entry and exit techniques, proper material stacking techniques. Follow and maintain all safety guidelines
  • 5%: Receive and stock Inbound orders manually and with the assistance of material handlng equipment (Materials including single items and case goods may weigh up to 65 pounds).
  • 5%: Note the quantity and any discrepancies in quantities as well as record any damages
  • 5%: Process required documents with accuracy within PDC safety and performance requirements.
  • 5%: Process Inbound orders using RF technology and following PDC standard operation procedures
  • 5%: Process Outbound orders using manual techniques and material handling equipment, RF technology and by following PDC standard operating procedures (Materials including single items and case goods may weigh up to 65 pounds).
  • 5%: Verify inventory accuracy to make sure it's the right part and the right quantity
  • 5%: Unload or load trailers, verify bills of lading, and check for transit damage.
  • 5%: Monitor and report equipment damages and operational issues to Team Leader.
  • 5%: Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of all areas of the RDC/PDC.
  • 5%: Train other associates and new hires when necessary.
  • 5%: Understand, test and have an operational knowledge of the organizational compliance topics
  • 5%: Observe all quality standards, and follow standard operating procedures for assigned tasks.
  • 5%: Verification of information printed on a receiving and picking label field on TekRF equipment and its relevance to the assigned task.
  • 5%: Develop a good working knowledge of each department's processes and procedures, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • 5%: Process HazMat materials and other parts while following regulatory requirements.


Performance Metrics include but not limited to: 15%



  • 5%: Completes inbound and outbound orders within established goals and expectations
  • 5%: Quality of work performed in accurate, thorough and neat (standard 1/1000)
  • 5%: Assigned work area is to be maintained in and orderly and clean fashion (Including the removal of packaging waste such as pallets, pallet boxes, shrink wrap, and other dunnage items from rack and floor locations).

Qualifications

Years of Relevant Experience:



  • 0 - 3 years in warehousing, distribution environment preferably automotive


Education (Required):



  • HS Diploma or equivalent


Skills:



  • To the extent necessary to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently in our warehouse, a candidate must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Computer savvy - skilled in the use of software
  • Integration - joining people, processes or systems
  • Problem solving


Specialized Skills -Required:



  • Acquire a complete working knowledge of TekRF transactions
  • General knowledge of warehousing, inventory, parts logistics, and distribution
  • Knowledge of parts and parts identification
  • Working knowledge of ET-2000
  • Formal OSHA or WHMIS training
  • Operate hand-held technology devices
  • Ability to navigate basic computer functions
  • Operate a variety of power equipment (tuggers, sit-down, stand-up and stock pickers)
  • Operate any material handling equipment
  • Perform physical activity at a sustained pace within the PDC including walking, bending, climbing, and lifting 65 pounds or more on a consistent basis
  • Perform work on Order Picker at heights of up to 40 feet.
  • Pass in-house training program for powered material handling equipment


Work Flexibility:



  • Available to work overtime as needed; Change shifts as required
