Electrician - Apprentice

NTS is hiring an Electrician - Apprentice to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as the technical point of contact for electrical work provided to clients on-site. Inspects electrical systems/equipment/components to identify hazards/defects/etc. to ensure compliance with applicable codes.4
• Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their electrical needs, resolving problems as they occur (regularly requires on-site visits).
• Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of electrical equipment. Escalates issues as needed.
• Submit reporting of work completed and other necessary business reports as required (timesheets, expense reports, etc.)
• Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, and equipment/fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Tests systems and work completed ensuring compatibility and safety of the system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, Military Service, and/or 0-2 years related experience and/or training in electrical work related environment.
• Ability to utilize electrical planning/applications/tools/documentation.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
• High degree of customer service skills, flexibility and an overall team approach to work performed.
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb ladders, use hands to handle/feel/reach, talk, and hear. Regularly lift 50-75 lbs. occasionally lift/move 100 lbs.
• Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's license and maintain auto insurance.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Pay: $28 - $30 per hour
