LinQuest has an immediate need for a Systems Architect on our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

In this role, you will support our USSTRATCOM NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) customer. Our customer serves as principal enterprise systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and technical authority for the Nuclear C3 Enterprise within DoD and oversee systems engineering and integration for the entire National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC) infrastructure. The NEC SE&I Division activities span the complex systems, programs and capabilities that compose the NC3 enterprise.

You will be a part of a major new design opportunity that will focus on engineering, analysis, and documentation of current and objective Enterprise Architectures. This will involve architecture development/trade-offs for acquisition strategy decisions to evolve the Nuclear C3 System into a broader Strategic C3/National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Collaborating with information engineers to establish system information requirements for NC3 enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems



  • Designing NC3 architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces



  • Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning and developing appropriate corrective action



  • Incorporating reference models and profiles of standards into specifications for Information Management solutions



  • Provide system engineering expertise to evaluate and ensure upgrades, integration, test, transformation efforts of NC3/NLCC systems and sub-components are executed as planned



  • Assess the NC3/National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC) systems and sub-component's ability meet the mission requirements and operate as designed



  • Assess the NLCC/NC3 architecture using computer simulations and models to evaluate how well communications work in a benign and stressed nuclear environment; generate reports and briefs using the results



  • Conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission to identify new or enhanced capabilities and provide impacts of performance levels on NC3 system of systems



  • Documenting the action of the study (i.e. TOR), recommending (and coordinating with) study participants, setting up and facilitating meeting, defining timeline and deliverables


  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for the position.


Requires Skills & Experience:



  • 11+ years relevant experience with five years of experience establishing system information requirements and designing architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support requirements
  • 3+ years of demonstrated relevant experience with the NC3 Enterprise Center or equivalent relevant experience at the Joint Staff Service Headquarters, or Combatant Command level.
  • Experience providing for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
  • Experience evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning
  • Experience developing appropriate corrective action in systems architecture
  • Experience establishing requirements, design, and ensuring interoperability for information management systems or enterprises


Preferred Skills & Experience:



  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field plus 3 years' relevant experience (10+ years' preferred), in systems architecture, including establishing requirements, design, and ensuring interoperability for information management systems or enterprises
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field plus 5 years' relevant experience in systems architecture, including establishing requirements, design, and ensuring interoperability for information management systems or enterprises
  • Experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities desired
  • Enterprise Architecture Certification desired
  • TOGAF and DODAF Certification desired


Compensation: Starting salary ranges from $150,000 to $174,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
