What You Will Do:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant! In this role, you will support our business units by preparing daily operational accounting tasks, monthly journal entries for posting to the general ledger, and monthly general ledger account reconciliations. You will analyze, verify, and record financial transactions accurately and timely. Ensure documentation of reconciliation and journal entry procedures are maintained as changes occurs. Assist in the monthly financial close process. Make recommendations for continual and proactive process improvement. Identify potential control weaknesses and suggest solutions to strengthen controls. Function as a liaison between accounting and all other departments. Participate in cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert to support business, regulatory, and other operational changes.
This hybrid, on-site position is located at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Manager, Finance.
How You Will Do It:
- Prepare journal entries as part of daily, weekly, and monthly close reviews.
- Prepare, obtain, and review supporting documentation and financial schedules for completeness and accuracy that uphold each journal entry.
- Ensure appropriate and accurate revenue recognition through reviewing contracts with customers and preparing monthly revenue trend and variance analysis reports.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on accounts including - but not limited to - accounts receivable, deferred costs, accounts payable, deferred revenue, and others.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)[SJ1] and other corporate policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting, and other projects as assigned.
- Take part in the budgetary and forecast processes.
- Reconcile the company bank statements with the general ledger.
- Prepare estimated pricing and cash flow analysis spreadsheets for new business proposals.
What We Look For:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or another relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience in aerospace, manufacturing, technology, or another relevant industry.
- General ledger accounting and month-end close or audit experience of those tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with project accounting, analyzing, interpreting, and publishing financial statements.
- An understanding of how to partner with third-party auditors.
Desired
- Experience using analytic skills to research and resolve accounting matters.
- Experience with Project Estimate to Complete (EAC).
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Power B.I. tools.
- The ability to communicate with varying levels of operational partners.
