PURPOSE AND ROLE

This will be done by providing meaningful work and training on the job, for summer internship. The role of an Engineer Intern is to provide basic engineering support through specific project work that will support the refinery's processes, systems, and operations. In addition, the Intern will have the opportunity to enhance their formal education by applying their knowledge to assigned engineering project work typically performed by Calumet engineers in the areas of Process, Reliability or Controls. During their internship, the Engineer Intern will be responsible to present the results of their work to Calumet leadership.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Completing specific assigned engineering project work
  • Assisting engineers in their assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Report out status and completion of specific assigned projects and responsibilities
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and operators to solve problems
  • Utilize P&ID's
  • Utilize software to develop and maintain tracking systems and monitoring programs
  • Work with current Engineers to provide recommendations for changes to applicable systems
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be a current college student in good academic standing, pursuing an Engineering Degree (Chemical or Petroleum)
  • Must be a current engineering student, Junior or Senior
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Operating programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal



PREFERENCES



  • Studying Chemical or Petroleum engineering

  • Willing to be hands on in the field, but also comfortable with working with a computer for extended periods
