Role Summary

Internship Term: January - August 2025

This is a bucket application, and is not an official opening. Your application can be considered for Rivian's 2025 internship programs. If you are selected, you will receive an invitation to interview for an open position.

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027.

If you are not pursuing a degree, please see our full-time positions on our Rivian careers site. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements.

Responsibilities

The Controls Development team is at the forefront of innovation in automation controls, utilizing advanced hardware and innovative technology to build a world-class automation platform to be deployed across every Rivian factory. This internship experience is will allow an eligible candidate to contribute in developing this platform which seeks to enable efficiency and consistency within Rivian's machine across every factory.


Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited university.
  • Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Mechantronics Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team and collaborating with cross-functional teams on various technical projects.
  • Proficient with Python or C#.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts.
  • Understanding developing software via object-oriented programming.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
