Position Summary

The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry's rapidly changing workforce needs by providing local San Antonio college students with public utility career experience. Through the internship program, students are paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experience that expands their understanding of how the industry works and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to be successful. The internship is not only meant for the intern to learn how to perform but to also understand the rationale behind the strategies that are being used.

This position will primarily support the Customer Experience team in the design and maintenance preparation for various business unit initiatives, which may include, but are not limited to, creating standardized data formatting, data cataloging, process analysis, and reporting.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participates in working with key stakeholders to identify critical/high-value data sets, and ensure data is appropriately classified and protected.
  • Participates in the establishment of metrics and reporting to track and identify all data cleansing and data management opportunities and determine the progress of initiatives.
  • Provide support in process documentation process inventory, and communication of new/updated processes.
  • Researches, analyzes, and creates current and future business process designs, workflows, and data flows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participates in the rollout of new processes or process improvements providing presentations, training, workshop coordination, or other such efforts.
  • Provide support in process documentation process inventory, and communication of new/updated processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills
Personal Computer Usage
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
A minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
Demonstrated leadership potential.

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.
