AIRPORT MAINTENANCE WORKER - Seasonal

Department - Maintenance

Hourly Pay - $20.87 per hour

Job Summary: After completing initial training, work shifts as needed. Seasonal staff will be called in for active snow removal efforts and to be on standby in preparation for impending snow. Areas of responsibility for snow removal to include on and off the airfield and in the public areas of the Airport. In addition to snow removal operations, seasonals will also be responsible for landscaping of grounds, litter and trash clean up, operating and maintain equipment and vehicles, and other tasks, as necessary.




  • Perform snow removal - Perform Snow Removal Operations as needed during winter weather.


  • Operate motorized vehicles - Operate motorized vehicles, including pickup trucks with trailers, riding mowers, weed eaters and leaf blowers.


  • Mow and trim grass - Mow and trim grass on Airport grounds and outlying properties owned by the Airport.


  • Maintain flower beds - Maintain flower beds. Plant, cultivate, pull weed and fertilize.


  • Pick litter and sweep pavements.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Current resident of WI.
  • Current valid WI Driver's License.
  • Valid CDL preferred.
  • High school diploma or G. E. D. equivalency preferred.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 60 lbs. and push/pull up to 60Ibs. is required.
  • Able to work long hours during emergency situations and in adverse weather is required.



This role is an hourly paid role at @ $20.87 per hour

THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE OMNIBUS TRANSPORTATION TESTING ACT OF 1991 AND THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGULATIONS, INCLUDING MANDATORY DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING, APPLY TO THESE POSITIONS. THE APPOINTING DEPARTMENT WILL CONDUCT A BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION WITH PREVIOUS EMPLOYERS AND DRUG TESTING OF ALL CANDIDATES CERTIFIED FOR APPOINTMENT.

In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
