Job Description: As a Machine Learning Engineer / Data Scientist - Engineer at Siemens' Digital Industries you will be at the intersection of data engineering and data science. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure needed to support machine learning models, as well as for creating and deploying those models. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability using technologies like Python, Apache Airflow, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to support machine learning initiatives.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain deployed models and data pipelines, ensuring they remain operational and effective.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering, data science, and machine learning.
What you will receive:
Duration: Temporary with a possibility to convert full time based on business needs and performance
Schedule: Remote
Pay rate: $70 per hour
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data science roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with data processing libraries such as Pandas and PySpark.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with model deployment and monitoring in production environments.
