Job Title:Quality Engineer

Location:Huntsville, AL

Job Summary:

Responsible for aligning corporate standards to plant deliverables through leading quality improvement efforts, managing quality systems, responding to customer concerns, and providing plant floor quality support. Helping plants understand inputs and machine process capability to outputs using statistical resources and ongoing analyses. Oversee and assist with the company quality system, providing input, and analyzing for process improvements such as documentation, cost reductions, and cost of quality.

Job Duties:




  • Analyze product and process data to support improvement efforts
  • Assist plants with product quality improvement using continuous improvement resources such as: lean six sigma, DOE (Design of Experiments), Product and Process Understanding (PPU), and Quality at the Source.
  • Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
  • Provide support for updating, auditing, and maintaining the ISO Quality Management System.
  • Ensure commercialized product design intent and product integrity is retained as materials, processes, equipment, methods, and specifications change.
  • Establish a standard acceptance process for supplier and equipment qualifications that are statistically based and repeatable.
  • Evaluate SPC and trend data on issues to help plants and staff groups improve CAPAs.
  • Provide support for R&D to develop new material through analysis and data comparison.
  • Provide technical assistance to develop and improve new and existing instrumentation/ equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Assist with the Smart Factory to ensure the correct inputs are being measured and tracked and data correlated to output results, utilizing effective control plans and SAP-QM



Job Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree required - Preferably within Engineering, or Materials Science
  • 2+ years' experience in quality or process engineering discipline
  • Knowledgeable in the use of statistical methods for process management, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Metallurgical and pressing experience a plus
