Job Summary

Spectrum Brands is seeking a strategic thinker with a knack for optimizing inventory and supply chains to join our dynamic team as a Supply Planning Manager. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our supply planning processes within an established best-in-class S&OP framework.

In this role, you'll develop and execute robust production and purchasing strategies to align supply plans with our inventory investment goals and customer service standards. You'll collaborate closely with commercial teams, sourcing experts, manufacturing plants, and both domestic and international suppliers to manage capacity effectively and ensure the timely availability of finished goods.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own supply side analysis to Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for supported product lines.
  • Effectively manage and optimize production capacity by strategically coordinating with both domestic and international suppliers, while partnering with on-site operations teams to adjust capacity as needed.
  • Evaluate diverse data sources to create realistic master production schedules for finished goods, aligned with capacity constraints and requirements.
  • Leverage and sustain advanced planning systems and optimization (SAP IBP, S4/PPDS) to develop finished good supply plans, ensuring efficient production management, operational stability, and the achievement of customer service level targets.
  • Monitor SKU level forecast consumption; taking corrective actions in supply plans to optimize inventory in accordance with trends.
  • Create and maintain critical SAP master data elements to ensure accuracy in supply and production plans.
  • Help manage slow moving and obsolete finished goods SKUs for proper disposition.
  • Engage in regular cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, and customer service to align and balance demand with supply.
  • Work closely with manufacturing facilities to manage adherence to supply plans to ensure production is executed in accordance with established plans.
  • Partner with the product development team to ensure new product launches are effective and timely.
  • Contribute as a key team member at meetings and reviews, with key accountabilities for providing metrics, resolving issues, proposing alternate methods, identifying corrective actions, and presenting information.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to improve supply planning processes as well as manage risks and opportunities for assigned projects
  • Analyze department performance metrics to resolve issues and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion in a fluid environment.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related area
  • 5+ years of related work experience in Supply Chain
  • APICS certification is a plus.

Required Skills

  • Strong Purchasing, Planning or Inventory Management background.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MRP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong customer orientation.
  • Proven aptitude for multitasking; ability to identify and manage a variety of high priority tasks and provide resolution in a calm and effective manner.
  • Attention to detail; excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods environment.
