Summary:

The Senior Administrative Specialist for the Department of Endodontology in the Maurice Kornberg School of Dentistry provides complex administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the department and serves as the Residency Coordinator for the program. Reporting to the Department Chair and working under limited supervision, the Senior Administrative Specialist handles highly sophisticated administrative tasks. These include managing the application and interview process for potential endodontic residents, providing the necessary support for didactic and clinic courses offered by the department, maintaining accurate records for the students, staff and faculty members' requirements, and regularly updating students' competency experiences. Additionally, this role involves creating and managing department calendars and collaborating with faculty and staff members to ensure they maintain proper credentials and complete competency trainings. Other responsibilities include managing an office that interacts daily with students, faculty, staff, alumni, professional and academic organizations, and department and university personnel.

The Senior Administrative Specialist will also work closely with the Senior Dental Assistant within the department to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day clinical activities. This includes assisting with the scheduling of clinical and clerical staff, and providing front desk coverage as needed due to staff breaks, call outs, trainings, or shortness of staff. Front desk responsibilities will include greeting and screening visitors, answering telephones, and returning voicemails. The Senior Administrative Specialist will also be responsible for assisting with departmental billing, including manual and electronic billing, insurance verifications, payment posting and reconciliation, and follow-up on denied claims. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
