Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Aqueous Separations and Radiochemistry Department Manager. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.

The Aqueous Separations and Radiochemistry Department develop and demonstrate world-class expertise and capabilities in chemical separations, radiation chemistry, radiochemistry to enable closed fuel cycle solutions for traditional and advanced nuclear reactor technologies.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Hire, mentor, and promote department staff.
  • Apply department resources to support division, directorate, programmatic and Laboratory missions.
  • Work with program leads, relationship managers, and other department managers to identify and support new and expanded technical programs and projects for the department.
  • Support the Center for Radiation Chemistry Research.
  • Hold staff accountable for performance of assigned responsibilities as well as ensure internal and external recognition of staff achievements.
  • Implement decisions and policies for the department according to INL policy (e.g., staffing, organization, merit allocations, promotions, discipline, awards and recognition, professional development, indirect budgets, business development, customer relations and projects, and internal and external interfaces.
  • Implement approved department/program level plans and budgets.
  • Approve self-assessment plans and other standard approval authorities (such as time charges, travel, expenses).
  • You will report to the Department Director

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or closely related discipline with commensurate experience in the nuclear enterprise: BS and 12+ years of experience, MS and 8+ years of experience, or PhD and 6+ years of experience.
  • 5 years of experience with material separations and/or radiochemistry R&D.
  • Evidence of increasing leadership experience demonstrating effective skills in recruiting, developing and managing engineers and/or scientists.
  • Experience performing or managing research related to aqueous separations and/or radiochemistry.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The target pay range for this position is $150,672.00- $222,079.00 annually. The full pay range is $103,032.00 - $262,740.00. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
