Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. This position leads architecture and technical design activities in support of specific solution development projects. Works closely with business units and associates to identify development of solutions that are cost-effective, efficient, and meet business needs. Collaborates on the technical design of artifacts, ensuring compliance and documentation of all applicable standards. Ensures quality results and timely completion of project tasks. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance on the design, interface requirements, and technology of developed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Solution Development - Leads a team of associates on assigned solution development projects. Recommends technology solutions, an application programming and integration solution through research on alternative options. As needed, troubleshoots deployment issues, develops programs, integrates solutions, and performs other tasks related to technical design.
- Consultation - Provides consultation to the business unit, management, and associates on all phases of integration systems development and processes. Acts as a trusted advisor on strategies and approaches for overall integration of technology components.
- Project Coordination - Ensures project tasks are completed on time and with a high degree of quality. Collaborates with other team members on detailed application design, development, and integration testing.
- Technical Expertise - Maintains a strong understanding of available technology, tools, and designs to provide consultation and leverage technologies within the Bank. Offers direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.
- Design, implement and maintain enterprise vision and target state architecture in alignment with enterprise architecture strategy.
- Collaborate, contribute, and partner teams to help influence and drive adoption of Architecture Patterns, Reference Architecture, and processes across the group to ensure alignment with other architecture domains (i.e. Solution, Data, Infrastructure, Security Architecture)
- Ensure new initiatives and related projects are aligned to organization-wide target state architecture, including review and approval of key design documents.
- Provide solution architecture consultation and support for initiatives and product teams; educate business and technology communities across all levels of the group on vision, strategy, and target state architecture, including patterns, standards, trends, opportunities, and challenges.
- Demonstrate a talent mindset by evangelizing architecture transformation and driving modernization goals across the group.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Software application development OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Software application development License or Certification Type: TOGAF or any Cloud Solution Architect certification preferred. Skill(s): Required Skillset:
- Deep knowledge of business processes and technical capabilities, preferably in financial service industry.
- Expertise in more than one infrastructure technology area (network, mainframe, distributed platforms, and databases)
- Knowledge of compliance regulations, system development methodologies and tools
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture frameworks and best practices with awareness of current trends for new architectural patterns and the ability to apply those patens and trends to help achieve business-focused transformation outcomes.
- Expertise in end-to-end solution development lifecycle.
- Experience with cloud services supporting micro-service and event driven architectures and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to keep pace with emerging technologies, application modernization, and digital transformation trends.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, system analysts and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skillset:
- Experience in building and deploying large integration projects.
- Experience in distributing computing including delivery of major programs on a cloud platform.
- Familiarity with latest industry trends related to Data Analytics, Machine Learning and AI.
- Knowledge or experience architecting solutions for Treasury or Regulatory Reporting groups.
- Experience with integrating vendor platforms (SaaS) with on-prem infrastructure.
