Job Title: Journeyman Plumber Pay Rate: $26/hour on w2 without benefits Location: Rockville, MD 20850 Duration: 3 to 6 Months Shift hours: M-F8:00-5:00 Job Description: Performs preventive maintenance of various plumbing systems and components including but not limited to, pool filtering system, water heaters, hot water generators, bathroom fixtures, sinks, water fountains, disposals, waste lines, storm water sump pumps, sewer ejector pumps, elevator sump pumps, compressed air lines, support fire suppression piping, backflow preventer testing and maintenance, natural gas line repairs, fuel oil line repairs, hot water piping for HVAC systems, piping for glycol system, and replace coils (vav boxes). Role & Responsibilities:: Completes work requests for major and minor plumbing tasks, both emergency and routine. Inspects plumbing systems, fixtures and components for deficiencies. Creates parts list for the reported plumbing problem to be resolved and makes decisions for the most viable course of corrective action. Prepares orders for parts and materials. Performs corrective action for plumbing service requests. Installs new plumbing equipment in compliance with applicable building codes and regulations. Works with local jurisdictions to ensure the College's plumbing systems are in compliance with all applicable codes. Integrates upgrades with existing College facilities. Proposes preventative maintenance schedules on plumbing fixtures/systems. Conducts inspections for preventative maintenance, to include inspection of life safety equipment such as the sprinkler system. Supervises contractors and/or other assigned staff. Performs research for repair parts, replacement parts, or upgrades to current non-efficient fixtures. May perform semi-skilled duties related to other maintenance trade areas.
