Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Production Manager to join our team of manufacturing professionals at our facility located at 900 High Street, Hanover, PA. The required shift is Monday-Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM, with flexibility to cover nights and weekends as needed.

The Production Manager is the key facilitator in achieving product quality objectives and coordinating activities on the production floor. They oversee all cGMP's, product quality and plant safety policies and procedures to the letter and serve as the example of those rules. The successful candidate is well-organized, able to delegate effectively, demonstrates strong attention to detail and has interpersonal and coaching skills needed to lead others. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, planning abilities to schedule production, previous knowledge and skills in Food Manufacturing, production, and processing operations as well as working knowledge of D365, Redzone and Microsoft Office. This is an exempt position reporting to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:



  • Flexible to work across all shifts as needed based on demand.
  • Maintains regular communication with the HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, and Talent Manager to ensure alignment on staffing strategies and associate-related matters.
  • Coordinates and builds lines of communication within the departments, specifically with processing and packaging supervisors, and all personnel reporting to them.
  • Ensures that production requirements as indicated by the production scheduler are met in the most efficient manner while maintaining high quality standards. Making adjustments due to downtime, lack of supplies,
  • Monitors and analyzes labor hours and crew size needed to efficiently run production
  • Oversees training programs for all shifts and ensures appropriate training for all personnel is being conducted to ensure proper job performance.
  • Ensures that the film waste program is maintained throughout the Packaging department and that information is incorporated into the overall packaging waste
  • Analyzes existing production lines and recommends adaptations and innovations, which will increase effectiveness and lower costs.
  • Supports and sustains Integrated Work Systems (IWS) in the plant to include maintaining and communicating line level KPIs and performance standards.
  • Responsible for the safety performance of assigned team while supporting the culture of safety and health through active engagement with leadership and the maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Follows and enforces all GMP and food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.


Requirements



  • Requires analytical, math and reading skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Email)
  • Requires leadership and management to direct the packaging departments and interface with other departments.
  • Interpersonal and supervisory skills necessary to lead others.
  • Knowledge of designated packaging and processing operations to assist when needed.
  • Moderate lifting and occasional skid pulling.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills required.
  • 5 years of processing and packaging equipment knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and planning abilities to schedule production.
  • Working knowledge of D365 and Redzone is preferred.
