Job Description

Are you a Communications Administrator with good problem-solving skills and experienced in Cisco Collaboration Virtualization technology? Are you able to visualize issues and use abstract thinking to solve them? If so, AMERICAN SYSTEMS wants you to join our team as our next Unified Communications Administrator II in Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington DC!

As a Unified Communications Administrator II you will:



  • Work in a team providing standardized solutions based on Cisco network equipment around the country and internationally.

A week in the life of a Unified Communications Administrator II:



  • Resolve Unified Communications user incidents and requests, to include operational voice and video challenges.
  • Resolve issues with vendor-specific multi-level video teleconferencing systems.
  • Manage UC endpoints.
  • Complete moves/adds/changes according to the specified SLAs.
  • Provide weekly report activities to the manager.
  • Assist with the installation of local and/or remote data and voice communications equipment.
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation, including operational instructions.
  • Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations.
  • Actively involved in hardware refreshes.
  • Maintains security policies on UCS systems

Job Requirements

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 2+ years of experience
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification or higher (e.g., A+ ce, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ ce, or SSCP)
  • Acquire a DoD 8570 Computing Environment certifications within 6 months of hire (e.g., Cisco CCNA Voice or equivalent certification.)
  • Experience with Cisco VTC codecs, Cisco VoIP endpoints, Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) version 11.5 or later, and Cisco Telepresence Management Server.
  • Ability, on occasion, to provide customer support outside normal duty hours.
  • Must be open to 10% annual travel and possess a valid US driver's license.
  • Willing to submit to a random CI polygraph.


AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $100,000-$120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
