What You Will Do:

  • Drive long distances to transport goods across states.

  • Inspect the truck before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues and performing basic maintenance tasks like oil changes and tire checks.

  • Load and unload cargo safely to prevent damage.

  • Plan efficient routes to optimize driving time and fuel efficiency.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation regulations, including mandatory rest periods.

  • Maintain a log of activities, including hours driven, rest periods, and vehicle inspections.

  • Communicate regularly with dispatchers to provide updates on deliveries and report any issues encountered.

  • Work overtime as needed

  • Use of overhead crane / hoist a positive.

  • Operate E-Log (ELD-Electronic Logging Device).

  • Must have the ability to work in an elevated (hot & cold) temperature environment.

  • Must be a reliable worker with good work references, including a good attendance history, and must work required over time during times of increased business demands.

  • Other skill sets and work histories can be considered as meeting some of the above requirements and on-the-job training will be provided as required.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • DOT Drug and Alcohol Test

  • Criminal Background Check

  • MVR Check

Position Details:

  • OTR truck driver, home on weekends

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Current CDL license with Class A required

  • 2 years of proven experience in long haul driving

  • Commitment to work overtime as needed

  • Must be able to operate E-Log (ELD-Electronic Logging Device).

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Experience in Windy and Icy weather driving

  • Basic math skills are a prerequisite.

  • Basic loading and unloading skills.

  • Must be able to read and comprehend manufacturing documents and other company publications related to the job and all safety notifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Drive an enclosed truck daily

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis without the assistance of a lifting device

  • Work indoors and/or outdoors while loading and unloading material. Work indoors while driving or filling out paperwork.

  • Are often exposed to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust

  • Wear protective or safety attire on a weekly basis

  • Sometimes are exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures while working outside

  • May have to get into cramped positions to reach workspaces, such as the back of a truck

  • Sometimes deal with sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable

  • Work close to others, especially when unloading trucks

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
