The Financial Analyst is responsible for accounting and financial analysis functions as it pertains to a variety of functions/ departments/ projects, driving improvements in both process and performance. A successful candidate will develop a close working relationship with their functional partners and leaders to develop key performance metrics and ensure the projects meet all goals to ensure we can be #FreshObsessed!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance and data analysis expert functions, departments, projects one supports.
  • Develops partnerships across the organization as a key Finance business partner and representative of the function.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and develop key metrics to measure with the goal of enhancing efficiencies.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, areas of opportunity and support improvement projects.
  • Creates and evaluates performance scorecards of different business activities
  • Creates new processes and leads system improvements on large scale cross functional projects
  • Creates and evaluates strategic financial models of proposed business solutions (ROI's, BVA's, Proforma's), including period-end reporting of contribution for areas of impact.
  • Represents the department and actively participates in various cross functional planning, training and financial meetings to provide input, share updates, and contribute to decision-making processes. Understand and articulate the impact projects could have on cost accounting and project recommendations and ultimately the impact on the financial statements.
  • Establishes, interprets and analyzes complex accounting and financial processes
  • Regularly communicates the status of work, any challenges or roadblocks, and potential risks or issues that may impact the project.
  • Ability to flex to adapt to changes in project scope, requirements, or priorities, and adjust work accordingly to meet the evolving needs of the projects.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
  • Participate in the period end close process
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3-5+ years of Financial Analyst experience and 1+ year project based ROI analysis or CI supportive role experience
  • Experience with data analysis and performance metrics
  • Experience with programming languages and data warehouse infrastructure, is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Flexible self-motivated employee
  • Strong Excel skills required, as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and process mapping tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ability to adapt to an ever-changing, high-volume retail environment while working in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication: written & verbal,
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and planning skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong focus on improving processes and implementing technology enhancements
  • Demonstrated experience in reducing costs while maintaining/ improving quality.
  • Customer and results oriented
  • Travel up to 25% (depending on functional, project support)
