Your Role With Us: If you're looking for a position to challenge your critical thinking, build relationships with patients over their time in our program, and learn about the specialty of weight loss surgery, this is the career for you! The bariatric clinic is a small, close-knit team, with the benefits of a large organization. Medical Assistants in the Bariatric Surgery Clinic greet and check in patients, room and take vitals, handoff to providers, schedule appointments, enter orders, and help patients over the phone. This unique position is 60% reception and 40% clinical.Learn about our program and our success stories Bariatric Surgery (salemhealth.org)Core Functions:Schedule and confirm appointments, build templates, greet and check-in patients for visits.Answer phone calls related to scheduling, current patients' clinical needs, and questions about patients wanting to enter the program. Obtain a brief history on all patients according to departmental standards.Document patient's vital signs, update medication list and allergies, and other pertinent information upon admission.Coordinate the execution of all physician orders. Work directly with surgeons in coordination of all pertinent patient records for evaluations, follow-ups, pre-ops, and consultations.
