Department of Surgery Job Description
The Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri has an opportunity for medical scribes in the Division of General Surgery. This position will be located in the Weight Management and Metabolic Institute and will assist with facilitating patient flow and ensuring an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. Shift
Monday though Friday, 4 hour consecutive shiftsMonday through Friday, 4 hour consecutive shifts Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge or abilities can be acquired is necessary. Six (6) months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge medical terminology. Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details. Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications. Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information. Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow. Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families. Anticipated Hiring Range
