Position Summary: The Securities and Account Processing Specialist has strong Trust Operations knowledge. This professional is responsible for the coordination of corporate actions on securities held within the trust division from initial correspondence to posting and ensuring all elections are made prior to the deadline as well as completion of the daily settlements with our securities custodians.

Essential Functions:



  • Coordinate all aspects of corporate actions on securities held within the trust division from initial correspondence to posting, including ensuring all elections are made prior to deadlines.
  • Complete daily settlement with Fifth Third and Depository Trust Company (DTC) for stock/bond trades. Trades can vary between 1 million to 60 million or higher.
  • Complete daily posting of incoming and outgoing transfers, fees, dividends, interest, trades, calls, maturities and pay downs.
  • Handle physical securities to/from custodian utilizing proper legal documents and procedures and posting requests on the Trust Accounting System.
  • Research and resolve trade discrepancies and complex situations as they arise communicating with brokers as necessary.
  • Process daily acquisition and affirmation of DTC confirmations.
  • Complete statement generation on a monthly basis and on demand as necessary.
  • Serve as a resource for Trust Operations questions and provide key back-up and assistance with other Trust Operations positions.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of two to three years accounting, finance or bank operations experience or two to four-year degree in related field.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of transactions under strict hourly and daily deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and in working with other financial software.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Sedentary work, occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.
