Job Summary:
The Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking excellent candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in neurobiology. The selected candidate will develop a vigorous, internationally recognized research program while making significant contributions to the department's teaching mission. The specific research area is open and could include candidates who study neuroscience at the molecular, cellular, systems or behavioral levels. We welcome applications from candidates using a range of experimental approaches and systems, including non-mammalian, invertebrate, or cell culture systems and computational approaches. Our goal is to hire an outstanding individual with broad research interests, promise for intellectual growth, and an ability to interact with an interdisciplinary and collaborative intellectual community. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the Department of Integrative Biology. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required, as is mentoring the research of undergraduate and graduate students. Candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research in areas of specialization leading to scholarly publications at the national and international levels. Candidate will be required to perform university and professional service as appropriate. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of Letters & Science, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to equity among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service. Education: Required Qualifications: Post-doctoral experience in neurobiology or related field required. The department brings together faculty and research programs that span a wide range of interests, including behavioral neuroscience, developmental and cellular neuroscience, cell biology, developmental biology, animal behavior, ecology, and evolution.
