Job Summary:
The Department of Geoscience (http://geoscience.wisc.edu) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (http://www.wisc.edu/) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor whose research can address fundamental challenges that are broadly related to critical mineral resources. This position is part of the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and Scholarly Excellence (RISE) Initiative. RISE-EARTH, which stands for Environment: Adaptation, Resilience, Technology, and Humanity, will strengthen the university's ability to address challenges and opportunities related to the environment, translating discoveries into tangible benefits at home in Wisconsin and beyond the RISE-EARTH Initiative. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will contribute to the research, teaching, and service mission of the Department of Geoscience and participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges. They will develop a vibrant, internationally recognized and externally funded research program. They will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor students, and participate in professional, public, and university service. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of Letters & Science, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to equity among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service.
