The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

This job posting is for an English-Spanish bilingual full-time Research Assistant working with investigators at the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain. We are seeking a highly motivated and highly organized research assistant.

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide support in the management of various studies of cognitive aging and dementia among minoritized populations, such as Spanish-speaking older adults. The individual will assist the Principal Investigator in various task across diverse research studies. This includes, but is not limited to:



  • Provide support in the ascertainment of the Spanish level proficiency of examiners.
  • Aid in the certification process examiners for Spanish cognitive assessments.
  • Review audio files of assessments for quality control and assurance purposes.
  • Schedule meetings, make phone calls, mail letters and informational flyers.
  • Share information with the public, facilitating recruitment for research studies.
  • Cognitive assessment of participants - In person and remotely.
  • Score cognitive assessments and enter data for multi-site studies that focus on lifecourse social and structural risk factors for cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Members of the research team will also attend lab meetings, study meetings, and troubleshoot and communicate frequently with project supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience, or an equivalent in education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a research setting and working with community-based research participants is a plus.
  • Experience writing/editing articles for newsletters.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Experience working with older adults and with cognitively or neurological impaired older adults.
  • Technical skills: Adobe Acrobat Pro, Excel, quantitative and quantitative analysis experience.


Other Requirements



  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Advanced fluency in both English and Spanish.
