Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for General Surgery ranging from $446,381 - $572,421. In addition, candidates have the potential to earn additional compensation with incentive eligibility on top of the base salary contingent on performance. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time surgeon to join the Division of Colorectal Surgery as Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor Level.

We expect the successful candidate to have excellence in clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity with a high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding, and strong commitment to mentorship, and diversity, inclusion, and equity. Faculty rank and series will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Candidates should have an MD or equivalent and/or MD/ PhD with board certification/ eligibility in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Colorectal Surgery.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Board Certified (eligible) General Surgery

Fellowship trained in Colorectal Surgery.

Significant demonstrated interest in teaching and future research collaboration.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must possess a M.D. degree or equivalent and/or M.D./Ph.D., board certification or board eligibility in the field of Colon & Rectal surgery, eligible to obtain a California DEA license and a California Medical License. Experienced in providing and/or oversight of care. Provide a quality clinical care and expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches. This individual should have at least 3 years' experience in treating any number of diseases including colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, benign and complex anorectal disease.
