JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ME ENGINEER FAMILY - CORE



  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary Electricalestimates, based upon program and schematic design information.
  • Assists in the review of electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
  • Assists in the completion of bid analysis and provides input during the Trade Partner selection process.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet the schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports.
  • Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.
  • Reads and outlines project specifications.
  • Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.
  • Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.
  • Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/Trade Partners.
  • Works collaboratively and creates relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as project team members, Trade Partners, vendors and clients.
  • Assists managing and compiling accurate cost history data bases for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintains Trade Partner and vendor relationships and communication to understand market trends and capacities.
  • Develop handoff package summary to project team to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will be responsible for the following:



  • Assumes responsibility for producing and explaining work product to assigned clients and represents JE Dunn in professional manner.
  • Leads the electrical coordination process during the bidding and solicitation process.
  • Creates constructability reviews and submits report to the project team.
  • May participate in job pursuit presentations representing mechanical/electrical expertise.
  • Provides budgetary electricalestimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated electrical estimating system for assigned projects.
  • Prepares basic components of cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
  • Solicits, coordinates, and compiles vendor quotes for estimate team evaluation.
  • Assists with pricing and tracking of value creation items from development through estimate inclusion.
  • Assists with developing scopes of work for basic trades and receives and analyzes subcontractor/vendor proposals. Provides coordination input to complete project needs.
  • Reviews electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Gains knowledge of developing the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
  • Gains knowledge of the mechanical scope of work including system selection, constructability and estimating.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Electrical takeoff software; Accubid, Conest, McCormick, Bluebeam, Building Connected, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, one-linesand specifications.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, construction management, or related field (Required).
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).

Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
