Ideal postdoctoral candidate should have:
- Strong background in biochemistry and genetics.
- Knowledge and experience in protein expression and characterization, animal models (a plus).
- Science communication skills are clear, concise, and simple.
- Ability to develop and test methods and interpret results independently.
- A successful record of authorship on peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Essential Duties:
- Planning & executing experiments according to approved research protocols.
- Establishing & optimizing new protocols for protein expression and characterization.
- Training and mentoring graduate & undergraduate students in the lab.
- Documentation of experiments, manuscripts, conference abstracts, and grant writing.
Additional responsibilities & opportunities:
- Opportunities to author scientific papers on signaling in animal development, methods in biochemistry and protein engineering, etc.
- Collaborations with Dr. Morcos and Dr. Meloni to prepare grant proposals for NSF and NIH agencies.
- Weekly lab journal club and meetings. Lab members take turns presenting their own projects and critique published articles in a collegial environment.
