About the Role and Team The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), reports to an ALMS Senior Corporate Manager and is part of a diverse team providing Base Operations Support and oversees and manages the safety program at Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The SSHO is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines to provide a structured management approach to control safety risks in operations. Your Impact As an experienced SSHO, you are an integral part of team that manages and enforces a comprehensive safety program that supports the HMX-1, DISA and surrounding facilities and facilities managers to create a safe and compliant workplace environment and minimize hazards to protect employees from occupational risks. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
About You and What Type of Skills and Qualifications You will Need EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on Base Operations Support Contracts that include Facilities Management, Facilities Investment, Custodial, Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping, Pest Control and Pavement Clearance OR Three (3) years of experience with a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree. Five (5) years of experience in quality control or quality assurance is a plus. CERTIFICATIONS: Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent is required and must meet the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1. KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of quality control principles, practices, and standards applicable to base operations support services. In-depth knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926 regulations CITIZENSHIP and CLEARANCE: Must be a U.S. citizen. Possession of a valid state driver's license is required. A DoD Top Secret is required, a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is desired.
