Transportation Safety Program Manager

HDR currently seeking a Transportation Safety Program Manager to lead business development, staffing, and program delivery of transportation safety within the Highways and Roads Market Sector. The duties of the Transportation Safety Project Manager are listed below.

Program Management Responsibilities:



  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large transportation safety projects and groups of projects under IDIQ or on-call contracts.





  • Produce and coordinate several projects and geographically dispersed project teams concurrently.





  • Develop the Transportation Safety Program Business Plan and report on progress to Transportation BG leadership





  • Coordinate staffing and workload of dedicated and loaned transportation safety staff to complete deliverables on schedule and meet programmatic success metrics.





  • Work with the Business, Operational, and Accounting leadership to support project financial and PARR reviews.





  • Implement QA/QC procedures for the transportation safety program to adopt at the project level.





  • Supervise project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers and engineers.





  • Identify and initiate training and best practices to develop transportation safety program staff.



Client Management Responsibilities:



  • Play a key role in business development activities for targeted Highways and Roads Market Sector clients and other local market clients to maximize HDR's market share in transportation safety.





  • Prepare current staff and source potential hires to position HDR with appropriate staff and technical capabilities for opportunities.





  • Preparation for and participation in interviews with clients, as required





  • Understand client's upcoming needs, promote client's perception of HDR services, identify pursuits, make go/no-go recommendations, and oversees proposal preparation.





  • Establish client relations and lead marketing, contractual, and delivery meetings.





  • Maintain client communication, satisfaction and market awareness.



Other Responsibilities:



  • Participation in Professional Organizations to help establish and provide recognition of HDR in the transportation safety market.



Preferred Qualifications



  • 15 years of experience in transportation with at least 10 years in the practice of transportation safety.





  • 7 years of experience in project management.





  • Master's degree.





  • Road Safety Professional certification.





  • Proficient with Microsoft Office





  • Must have the ability to interact with various delivery and marketing teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills



Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years experience in related field
  • Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
