What you will do:



  • Direct, plan, implement, promote, and control department efforts in the development and implementation of business strategies in the areas of safety performance, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, departmental employee productivity, equipment reliability and technical standards.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, supervision and coaching to the members within his team to meet site objectives and goals. Monitor progress and direct activities to strengthen as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies as they apply to department activities. Inspect areas of responsibility at regular intervals to appraise and monitor conditions.
  • Ensure that the site incorporates "Best Practices" and ensure that these practices work toward continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that asset maintenance history is maintained and available for determining proactive maintenance strategies. Ensure a well-functioning Preventative Maintenance program that drives improving reliability based on criticality of the equipment.
  • Review site performance measures and key performance indicators and take appropriate actions.
  • Prepare and submit budgets for areas of responsibility. Ensure control of spending against approved budgets. Continually pursue ways to improve on maintenance services and costs.
  • Analyze maintenance spending and, in conjunction with department staff, investigate variances and define corrective actions.
  • Maintain plans for departmental succession. Provide Assignments and training activities as necessary for employee growth and promotional opportunities.
  • Maintain communications and coordinate with peer level positions in other PCS locations as appropriate to identify opportunities for improvement in systems, integration of services and interchange of personnel.
  • Maintain good communications with peers at WSA, provide any assistance as needed and request assistance as needed, to ensure that the departmental functions are aligned between all the plant departments.
  • Well-developed leadership skills in a professional environment.
  • Must be capable of applying leadership and managerial skills to develop organization and achieve efficiencies.
  • Ability to think in overall broad terms and negotiate solutions with other related organizations, have theability to influence those outside the direct organization.
  • Must be able to drive change and continuous improvement performance throughout the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Oracle. Must also understand area required software and reporting functions.
  • Ability to handle complex, abstract problems from identification to resolution.
  • Must have strong communication skills, with tact and diplomacy while able to demonstrate superior active listening skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written skills.
  • Must establish relationships and address conflict through appropriate resolution skills and techniques.
  • Competent working in cross-functional and multi-task environments.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks; provide timely responses and manage time appropriately.
  • Must be able to work independently, set challenging goals and anticipate changes in work demands.
  • Understand related job responsibilities and functions within a larger organization.
  • Must take initiative and demonstrate a strong intellectual capacity with an attitude of continuous learning.
  • Must demonstrate highly developed problem-solving skills and demonstrates technical competencies with the capacity for technical growth.



What you will bring:



  • Minimum of 8 years combined professional experience in maintenance field of expertise within heavy industry with supervisorial experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking ability, able to develop and execute long term plans.
  • Current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to systems design and operation; Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
  • Experience with CMMS systems and tracking of best practice maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), preventive and predictive maintenance programs and standards.
