About the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute (GTMI) is one of Georgia Tech's ten interdisciplinary research institutes (IRI's) and part of the broader Georgia Tech research enterprise. GTMIs major areas of research and development are on the design and development of advanced manufacturing systems targeting secure digital manufacturing, additive and subtractive processes, and large-scale production enterprises. Furthermore, GTMI is focused on the scale-up of manufacturing capabilities from laboratory and benchtop scale to pilot plant operations. The institute works with all of Georgia Tech's colleges, the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2), the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP), other IRIs, and the Georgia Tech Research Institute. We collaborate in a cross-discipline way to fully harness GT's strengths and resources.

Georgia AI Manufacturing (Georgia AIM) is a state-wide initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support a statewide initiative that combines artificial intelligence and manufacturing innovations with transformational workforce and outreach programs. Georgia AIM is revolutionizing the industrial economy of Georgia and the nation through the equitable, development and deployment of talent and innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) for all manufacturing sectors. Job Summary

The Georgia AIM leadership team is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute. This role will focus on gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to quantify success metrics of the Georgia AIM Projects and to inform leadership decisions and communicate findings in a clear, actionable manner. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in analyzing data and translating it into insights that can inform strategic recommendations for leadership and also demonstrate success to federal and state sponsors and stakeholders.

The Research Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Georgia AIM program by collecting and analyzing economic, innovation, and financial data to measure program success, inform leadership decisions, and drive strategic improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and analyze economic, research, and financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and key findings in the data to help inform leadership decisions.
  • Develop and implement data collection methods and quality assurance protocols to ensure data integrity.
  • Create compelling data visualizations and reports that effectively communicate key insights and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on grant activities, website content, white papers, and other documents that clearly present data-driven insights.
  • Manage the preparation of financial-related reports and schedules with a focus on clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including faculty, students, postdocs, and staff to support research initiatives.
  • Support proposal development teams by aggregating data, creating visualizations, and providing technical writing for grant applications and proposals.
Required Qualifications

This position vacancy is an open rank announcement. Research Engineer I / Scientist I

  • This is the initial rank held by research personnel who have at least a bachelor's degree and who will be performing on a professional level.

Research Engineer II / Scientist II

  • A Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • A Master's degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree
Proposed Salary

Salary Commensurate with experience
