Description
Position Summary: Accountable and responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sales and operations of the branch. Implements strategies to improve sales and operational performance in efforts to achieve financial sales goals. Hiring employees and leading the onboarding and employee training process, building rapport with members and the community. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintains a highly motivated and well-trained staff, oversees orientation of new employees, mentors and develop employees, and maintains effective employee relations. Identifies developmental opportunities and initiates training and other actions to ensure employees are well equipped to successfully perform job duties.
- Creates strategies to drive all aspects of branch performance to include increasing revenue and member loyalty. Collaborates with VP/Branch Experience, cross-functional partners, and management to develop and implement business strategies to achieve branch goals.
- Initiates activities and defines standards to ensure members have a memorable experience and their financial needs are satisfied.
- Coaches team to engage with members utilizing tools and systems to uncover needs, provide solutions and offer consultation to improve member financial well-being.
- Drives the employee experience. Responsible for acquiring and retaining talent through effective onboarding, coaching, and development. Makes talent development a priority for all branch team members. Ensures employees achieve performance, activity, and production expectations through effective and ongoing performance management.
- Delegates and empowers teammates to take over tasks and responsibilities to accomplish results for which BM has ultimate responsibility.
- Leads effective branch sales meetings and activities. Responsible for new consumer and business member acquisition. Performs member services and lending functions as needed to meet workload demands.
- Evaluates job performance of branch staff to ensure quality of work and service to members. Monitors all branch reporting and collaborates with VP/Branch Experience to ensure branch achieves goals. Completes annual performance reviews. Supports HR policies and guidelines as established in the employee handbook. Upholds behaviors expected per the credit union's Core Values.
- Ensures compliance with credit union policies, laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and other regulatory agencies. Makes management decisions consistent with credit union policies and procedures assuring a uniform and consistent approach.
- Reviews branch operations, production, and member service levels consistently. Identifies opportunities and implements actions to correct inefficiencies.
- Ensures branch employee schedule supports operational readiness. Monitors and approves timekeeping entries, overtime, and paid time off. Coordinates staffing to minimize overtime.
- Assists employees and members in solving account and operational issues.
- Manages and monitors branch operations and appearance to ensure a consistent professional approach; analyzes and monitors the security and safety of the branch to include proper opening/closing procedures.
- Fosters team culture and supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts within the credit union by providing open lines of communication and cooperation between all departments.
- Leads all branch business development efforts. Represents the credit union by participating in community activities to promote Launch products and services.
Other Responsibilities and Duties
- Consults with VP/Branch Experience, communicating any issues, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information within area of responsibility.
- Participates with the management team by contributing ideas, concerns, and solutions. Serves on credit union project teams leveraging expertise.
- Approves member exceptions and authorize fee refunds.
- Implements and maintains operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work, following all Launch Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Follows and complies with all Launch Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Ensures branch staff completes compliance training as assigned. Completes assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
- Maintains a professional and courteous demeanor with all people, including all Launch employees, members, board members and outside vendors.
- Attends required meetings and training sessions. Some travel required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Oversees the day-to-day operations and staff within assigned areas of responsibility. The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned areas of responsibility and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; corrective action; termination decisions; planning; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and carrying out disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Skills Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five years similar or related experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Internal Candidates: Satisfactory Completion of Launch's Aspiring Leaders Course (ALC) or minimum of two years supervisory experience. External Candidates: Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
- Ability to obtain a NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry) is required.
- Serves as a role model by delivering an exceptional member experience and focuses on building relationships. Engages members and understand their financial needs to identify and make the appropriate product/service recommendations to meet those needs.
- Strategic and sales oriented.
- Must be able to successfully coach and mentor employees. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented, accurate, able to work under pressure, adapt to change and delegate.
- Analytical, highly organized, decision making, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to meet/exceed production goals.
- Must be knowledgeable or ability to quickly learn credit union products, services, policies, and procedures, including the various types of loan products and electronic services. Ability to learn and understand the documentation that is required for each loan and how to read a credit report.
- Knowledge of Notary and Medallion Signature Guarantee processes.
- Must be knowledgeable or ability to quickly learn the applicable regulations (i.e., Reg B, D, Z, CC, BSA, TISA, etc.).
- Proficient with the use of computers. Ability to quickly learn software applications, multiple programs, and systems.
