Overview

Summary

The Manager, PMO is responsible for the high-quality and timely delivery of internal technology based services and reports into the central IT Project Management Office (PMO). This position manages a team of Portfolio and Project Managers responsible for delivering regular business enhancements via an Agile-Scrum process and larger/complex programs consisting of projects lead by C1 as well as other vendors. Success in this position requires openness to constant change, a focus on continuous improvement and ability to hire and retain a world-class team focused on consistency, quality outcomes and high internal customer satisfaction.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions

    Leads team of highly skilled portfolio and project managers
  • Hires, reviews, compensates, manages performance issues, promotes, exits (etc.)
  • Provides and/or coordinates staff training and in-services relevant to performing job duties
  • Enhances, audits and enforces defined project and portfolio delivery methodology, communications and governance plans in conjunction with the C1 IT Project Management Office
  • Assumes responsibility for continuous improvement for request to release delivery quality, operational efficiency and effectiveness - including business portfolio roadmaps and overall team process
  • Works with a single or several delivery teams to prioritize programs and projects based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies
  • Aids in the communication and negotiation of current priorities and constraints with business partners
  • Ensures process consistency across all business and foundational portfolios
  • Supports and promotes the objectives of the C1 IT PMO
  • Fosters a positive working environment to encourage independent thinking and innovation.
  • Creates a high-performance team through ongoing coaching and mentoring to the team
  • Promotes knowledge sharing and skills development
  • Recognizes Opportunity identification and works closely with the PMO team and broader IT department staff to develop and communicate new opportunities identified within existing portfolios
  • Contributes to and manages key metrics for the team and department

Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engages in direct portfolio management as needed (i.e. - playing a Product Owner role for a Sales + Marketing/CRM portfolio delivery team)
  • Oversees special projects as needed


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in project management and/or related leadership roles
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Passion for project and portfolio management, and operations
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop, document, and optimize business processes
  • Excellent demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to assign and monitor work
  • Excellent knowledge of customer service procedures and practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to drive consistency and continuous improvement within the department
  • Excellent ability to lead a team toward departmental objectives and vision
  • Ability to foster and build relationships at all levels in a large, corporate environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong written and presentations skills, with the ability to tailor information to the audience in a way that establishes rapport, influences others and gains understanding at all levels
  • Fluent in use of Microsoft Office

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of direct management experience
  • Proficiency with the following project/Agile work management tools: Azure DevOps (ADO), SharePoint, Microsoft Project Web/Smartsheet

Pay Range

$120,000 - $155,000

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
