What you'll do

As the Director of Project Management for Utilimaster (A Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will enjoy overseeing the strategic direction of the Project Management function and ensuring programs and projects are effectively managed and implemented across the business.

Your day-to-day will involve developing and implementing project management processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

The work you will accomplish in this role will be instrumental in shaping the future of how truck bodies are designed, built, and delivered.

You will also:

  • Provide direction and oversight over Utilimaster's project implementation processes
  • Manage company adherence to standard implementation processes
  • Ensure business and program implementations meet budget, timeline, and contractual requirements
  • Maintain organizational, team, and work breakdown structures, work planning, issue logs, change control, and executive reports for implementations
  • Provide input on operating models, standard corporate functional and information system models, performance metrics, expected outcomes, and plan impacts
  • Ensure project success by partnering cross-functionally
  • Communicate project status to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor project team members and stakeholders
  • Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to increase and maintain commitment to portfolio goals
  • Embrace the roles of Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert

What you need to be successful

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree is required
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Six or more (6+) years of leadership experience managing three or more (3+) direct reports
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Experience working in the automotive, commercial truck, industrial equipment, agricultural, or manufacturing industries
  • Versed in developing and managing governance and controls for PMO structures
  • A deep understanding and demonstration of project management tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • A reputation for being attentive to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions
  • A history of planning and handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Versatility, flexibility, and eagerness to succeed within constantly changing priorities
