Job Description
The purpose of this position is to administer, manage and provide high-level support for the college information system and other third party systems utilized by the college. This is accomplished by coordinating, communicating and collaborating with end users, technical users, college management and vendors; ensuring the integration of systems; documentation and process analysis; aligning systems with business processes; developing business-process and database models; managing databases; scripting; and programming systems. Other duties include providing alternative solutions to departments in their enhancement of business processes; ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations; and adapting and aligning technology tools.

This is an exempt, professional staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
Minimum of an associates degree
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience working with Linux/Unix environments and Oracle SQL, PL/ SQL and shell scripting
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience working with technical and functional end users troubleshooting issues
  • Experience creating and organizing documentation of technical processes
  • Knowledge and skill in creating and administering scripts and programs to enhance business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple complex and time sensitive projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in accomplishing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with managing Higher Education ERP/SIS, preferably Ellucian Banner
  • Experience with administering Higher Education software
  • Experience with 3rd party data integrations
  • Knowledge of ERP Reporting Software
  • Knowledge of Pro*C/C++
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science,Cloud Computing,Network Engineering or related field

Hours per Week 40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours are required throughout the year
