Job Overview:
As an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist and Senior Linux Administrator, you will be the primary point of contact for users facing technical issues. Your role involves conducting systems analysis and development to ensure our systems remain up to date with evolving technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Support: Provide front-line support by troubleshooting technical issues and training users on system operations.
- System Administration: Manage day-to-day operations of physical and virtual server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server operating systems.
- Hardware & Network Management: Configure and troubleshoot both physical and virtual hardware, as well as network interfaces related to server operations.
- Software Management: Install, update, and patch operating systems and vendor software, ensuring optimal performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to track and assess the performance of physical and virtual servers, addressing any issues that arise.
- Storage Administration: Oversee storage systems and associated infrastructure across multiple environments, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- System Testing: Conduct tests to verify the integration of software and hardware, ensuring compliance with reliability, maintainability, and safety standards.
- Architecture Planning: Collaborate with the team on architecture and design changes involving Linux storage infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and process optimizations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of systems, processes, and field information security protocols, including installation and STIG compliance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Linux system administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and user support experience.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and performance optimization.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Advanced System Administrator Specialist.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Solid understanding of LINUX server-based operating systems
- Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS as well as both networking and storage technologies
- Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes
- Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
