Machine Operator (201917)

• Reviewing prints and instructions for cutting and sewing patterns.
• Setting up and operating industrial sewing machines.
• Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines.
  
• Draw or create patterns.
• Hand cut a variety of materials in various departments based on prints or patterns.
• Operating a heat cutter machine to cut out various types of materials based on prints or patterns.
  
• Making sure orders are on time for delivery including time and material tracking.
• Monitoring inventory and place order requests as needed.
• Creating patterns within industry specific software.
• Inspecting finished products and adjust, if needed.
• Moving product to appropriate areas via hand pallet jack, hydraulic lifts, carts, or dolly.
• Prepare and package completed orders for shipments and/or delivery.
• Monitoring material inventory and place order requests as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

General Information:

Hours: Hours of operation are between 6:45am and 5:15pm - they would be flexible (i.e., 7:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday, and 7:00am-11:00am Fridays OR four 10 hour shifts 6:45am-5:15pm, Monday-Thursday)

Length: Temp to Hire

Pay: $17.00+ based on experience

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Prior sewing experience is required.
  
• Experience with reading sewing patterns or blueprints is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Comfortable in using computers.
• Ability to read measurements accurately.
  
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fraction to decimal conversions.
• Effectively work within team environment.
• Good communication skills with other colleagues and supervisors.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time during each shift.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize orders.
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
