VPVA) is seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time, grant-funded position that is crucial to supporting the university's efforts in addressing interpersonal violence. The position focuses on providing direct, confidential support to student survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking through individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy. The role demands expertise in trauma-informed counseling, a deep understanding of state and federal mandates, and knowledge of compliance requirements and criminal procedures.
Key responsibilities include delivering psychological counseling, managing emergency and crisis situations on and off hours, collaborating with campus partners, and engaging in advocacy both on and off campus. The position also involves designing and conducting outreach and educational programs, particularly targeting underserved populations within the campus community. Additionally, the role supports the
VPVA office in grant management, planning, and participating in unit-wide events and meetings.
The position requires a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (
LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (
LPC) with at least three years of clinical experience, preferably in a campus setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the flexibility to handle on-call responsibilities during evenings and weekends.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience with trauma-focused services, training as a Confidential Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Victim Advocate in New Jersey, and previous work within a campus setting. The role requires the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations with ethical judgment and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and policies. |

- Expertise in gender-based violence and trauma informed counseling with a particular emphasis on sexual and domestic violence including theoretic understanding of culture and social causes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
- Some evening and Weekend hours expected in on call responsibilities.
